Speak Piemontese at Cit Sircol!
NOW ONLINE via ZOOM! The Cit Sircol meets biweekly online via Zoom during fall through spring. It is led by Kevin McCabe, our great Guru of the (Piemontëis) Piedmontese language. We begin by conversing in Piedmontese about happenings, stories and aphorisms. We sometimes have a grammar lesson and we always read together from a Piedmontese book or novel.
As far as we know, Piemontesi nel Mondo of Northern California is the only group that sponsors a class in written and spoken Piedmontese. Thanks to our benefactors over the years, there is no charge for these lessons. You may “brush up” your Piedmontese or learn from scratch. One of our members, Vince Fausone, credits these classes with giving him the opportunity to regain his childhood language.
We encourage students and lovers of languages to join in and learn the language spoken by over 2 million people worldwide.
